Politics, Poverty and People Power: why citizen activism is important now more than ever

RESULTS National Conference 2017

We have a history of achieving remarkable things. And when we put our mind to ending global poverty, we’ve made enormous progress.

Yet we are faced with unprecedented change: Britain’s place in the world post-Brexit; ever more vocal critics of international development; and a shifting global balance of power. At the same time, many poorer countries face pressure to fund their own public services, such as health care, as international donors withdraw their support.

How can we continue to push for a more equal planet and reach the ambition of the Global Goals by 2030?

We’ll be exploring the incredible power that ordinary people have to make the world a better place. In 2017, citizens working together to overcome extreme poverty is now more important than ever.

Join us at the RESULTS National Conference, Politics, Poverty and People Power in London over the weekend of Saturday 6th to Monday 8th May.

Hear from high profile speakers and inspiring activists on the politics of poverty, how to influence political leaders, and how people power is making a difference around the world. See RESULTS UK advocates in action, meet other campaigners from across the UK, and develop your campaigning skills.
