This National Volunteers Week, we’re delighted to showcase the remarkable advocacy work of volunteer campaigners and their contribution to overcoming global poverty. In this guest blog post, Ricci and Karen, co-leaders of the Macclesfield RESULTS Group, share their personal motivations for the voluntary work they do, as well as some of their achievements.
Ricci and Karen also made this great video summarising their blog post!
This blog was written by Valeria Rodriguez, a student at the University of Florida who spent three months volunteering with RESULTS UK as part of a university programme.
As an intern at RESULTS, I learned about many significant global issues that made me realise how uninformed I was before. In my opinion, it is important for everyone to be active members of society and be aware of these global issues. This made RESULTS a perfect opportunity for me, as it provided an...
Every year the major political parties in the UK hold an annual autumn conference. Conferences are a great opportunity for members of a party to vote on future policy decisions, attend events and chat to parliamentarians. Since 2015, RESULTS UK and Send My Friend to School have attended various party conferences in order to ensure that the key issues of global health and education are continually in the foreground of conversations on aid, poverty...

Advocacy Day. A day which starts with a mix of nervous excitement and anticipation and which for most ends with a real sense of satisfaction that you have contributed to bumping up important global issues to the top of decision makers’ piles.

This guest blog post was written by London RESULTS Group member Stephen Richards. Stephen graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2012 with a B.A. in philosophy and has been volunteering with RESULTS UK since 2016. Everyone associated with RESULTS will know that, whilst we are not directly...
What a year. The UK announced an historic pledge of £100million to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, which will help bring the world one step closer to eradicating polio for good. A new Secretary of State was appointed at DFID. Over 65 campaigners assembled in Parliament for a day of action to mark World Poverty Day. And world leaders included TB in the Communiqué's section on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), with a call for new ways to promote research and development.
James Foskett, group leader of our Brighton RESULTS group, shares four things he has learnt campaigning for RESULTS over the past year. This blog was first posted on the RESULTS Brighton blog.
I have been campaigning with RESULTS UK for a little over 3 years now and am currently the group leader of the Brighton RESULTS group. As the year draws to a close, I wanted to share four things I have learnt about being a...

This guest blog post comes from Calum Kinsella from the London group, one of 11 campaigners from the RESULTS network who joined us on the day.
Several RESULTS campaigners met in Westminster on Tuesday 17th October at the #...
