I’m pleased to share that a recording of the November grassroots conference call is now available to download here.
With new figures released by the World Health Organisation last month showing that TB - the world’s leading infectious killer - just got deadlier, this month’s call focused on the scale of the growing TB epidemic and the importance of increased political commitment. We also heard an update from RESULTS campaigners on what they had been up to at the 47th Union World Conference on Lung Health, from learning more about TB research and development, to speaking on a panel discussion about grassroots advocacy.
We were joined on the call by guest speaker Matt Oliver, Head of the Secretariat of the Global TB Caucus. The Global TB Caucus is a network of parliamentarians in more than 100 countries, working individually and collectively to end the TB epidemic. Matt explained more about the threat of antimicrobial resistance, and progress towards developing new TB drugs and vaccines.
