Ahead of the annual climate change conference, this short briefing builds on our policy report, ‘Weathering a Risky Climate’  earlier in the year and lays out how the international climate negotiations can help achieve progress for the world’s poorest and most vulnerable communities, who are on the frontlines of the changing climate. In this briefing we show how the ‘Pro-Poor Principles for Climate Risk Insurance’ should be adopted as a gold standard as the climate community scales up investment in insurance as one way to address loss and damage from climate change.
