In our September grassroots conference call, we focused on the issue of nutrition, with just weeks to go now before the important Nutrition for Growth Summit in early December. But that's not all! With the UN climate conference (COP-26) coming up in Glasgow, there's a great opportunity to use this UK Government priority to show the impact climate change has on food security, hunger and nutrition - see the links below.
We were privileged to hear from nutrition advocacy expert Meaza Getachew, Global Policy and Advocacy Manager at 1,000 Days, a non-profit organisation working in the US and around the world to ensure that women and children have the healthiest first 1,000 days.
You can watch the call recording here. As well as nutrition, we discussed the upcoming RESULTS National Conference, the situation in Afghanistan, updated on the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and discussed the current state of play for efforts to eradicate polio.
To take action and call on the UK to make important commitments and pledges ahead of the Nutrition for Growth Summit in December, check out our action materials for September's campaign 'Nutrition for Growth: It's time to commit'.
